Standard

We target conformance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, EN 301 549 (as implemented under the European Accessibility Act, in force 28 June 2025), Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act, ADA Title III, and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

What We Do

• Semantic HTML with a single main landmark and correct heading hierarchy on every page.
• All interactive elements are keyboard operable with visible focus indicators.
• Text and non-text contrast meet or exceed WCAG AA (4.5:1 body, 3:1 large text and UI).
• Text can be resized to 200% without loss of content or function.
• Alt text on all meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
• Ebook reader supports keyboard chapter navigation, adjustable font size, and screen reader landmarks.
• Motion respects prefers-reduced-motion.
• Form fields are programmatically labeled and errors are announced to screen readers.

Known Limitations

Some historical illustrations and archival plates carry brief captions in place of full descriptive alt text; we are progressively enriching them. Please write to us if you need a specific plate described.

Enforcement
